Dear all
I would like to share something on the issue of my neighboring Burma. Despite Indian flexing muscle for its largest democracy in the world, its attitude and stance towards Burma is questionable;
Why India recently provided arms and ammunitions to the military junta (through the national highway no. 39 in Manipur). And why, India wants to maintain relationship with the junta and to continue the giving assistance to the military power.
Because of the gas, multi-national highway project and close the shelters of armed opposition groups of North East (India) in Burma, India cannot sacrifice human rights and democracy so easily. Still I believe India can have a better opportunistic future with Burmese democratic government. Yet it has opposed the economic sanction and is preventing the pro democracy asylum seekers coming through Manipur.
Can we ask India to lift the decades long restriction on international activists and journalists to come to Manipur for participating and witnessing a democratic protest against the Military Junta (at Burma boarder area)?
And also can we seek something from China to end giving support to Junta by stopping the Next Year Beijing Olympic.
love hearing from you
